- Post may be delayed across nearly 50 postcodes.
- Royal Mail cited staff sickness and local issues.
- The warning comes ahead of the Christmas rush.

## Summary

Royal Mail has warned that post may arrive late in several UK areas on Friday, 6 November, affecting nearly 50 postcodes. The delays matter because they come amid wider pressure on delivery services ahead of the Christmas period.

The company cited high levels of staff sickness and other local factors, and said it would rotate deliveries to limit delays and support affected offices. Areas named include Aberdare, Basingstoke and Glasgow. The article also reports that the Communication Workers Union says around 400 delivery staff are leaving each week; Royal Mail’s revised delivery model has reached about 1,000 of its 1,200 delivery offices.
