## Key points

- Elkjøp listing named Monolith Soft as Ocarina of Time remake's developer
- Nintendo Life says claim is unverified, possibly just a guess
- Bergsala listed as Nordic publisher; developer remains officially unconfirmed

## Summary

A listing on Norwegian retailer Elkjøp's website named Monolith Soft, the Xenoblade Chronicles studio Nintendo fully acquired in December 2024, as the developer of the upcoming Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2. Nintendo Life treated the claim as an unverified rumour rather than confirmed fact, noting the publisher has a long history of staying silent on development studios until close to launch, and that the listing could just as easily reflect a staff guess as genuine insider knowledge. No further evidence emerged to substantiate or debunk the listing, leaving the developer's identity officially unconfirmed.

The Elkjøp page credited Swedish distributor Bergsala, which handles Nintendo products across Nordic markets, as publisher, a detail consistent with normal regional arrangements. Monolith Soft has previously provided extensive support on titles including Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, making it a plausible candidate, though it is currently occupied with Xenoblade Genesis, raising doubts about capacity. Alternative candidates such as Grezzo, the studio behind past 3DS Zelda remakes, remain in contention, and Nintendo has given no indication of when it might confirm the actual developer.
