## Key points

- Alleged Persona 1 remake footage has surfaced online.
- Its authenticity remains uncertain, including because of AI-generated content.
- Atlus has previously discussed remaking Persona 1 and 2.

## Summary

Footage claiming to show a remake of Persona 1 has appeared online, but its authenticity is unconfirmed. The video’s apparent quality and animations resembling those in Persona 4 Revival have led some to think it may be genuine, while the possibility of AI-generated content means caution is warranted.

The footage reportedly shows combat with Persona 1 characters and Persona 2 protagonist Tatsuya Suou, whose appearance could be a placeholder. Atlus producer Kazuhisa Wada has said remakes of the first two games are projects the studio should eventually undertake. Persona 4 Revival is due on 17 February, so even if the leak is real, the remake is unlikely to arrive in the same year.
