## Key points

- Game data contains references that may relate to Master Quest.
- The findings do not confirm a release.
- Eiji Aonuma has made no specific announcement.

## Summary

Data discovered in the Switch 2 version of *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time* may point to Master Quest content, raising the possibility of a more challenging post-launch addition. The evidence is suggestive, but it does not confirm that Nintendo plans to release it.

The dataminer MrCheeze found references marked “MQ” beside “DodongoCavern” and strings including “HasMQ”, “IsMQModeExist”, “NewGameMQ” and “ReleaseMQ”. Master Quest previously reworked the game’s dungeons for GameCube and 3DS releases. Producer Eiji Aonuma recently said he would not announce anything specific about whether it was considered for the Switch 2 version.
