James Mangold’s 2007 Western 3:10 to Yuma, starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, has become a new Netflix streaming hit nearly two decades after its cinema release. The resurgence highlights renewed audience interest in films aimed at older viewers, alongside the box-office success of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

The 122-minute film remade Delmer Daves’ well-regarded 1957 adaptation of the same story, in which a rancher agrees to escort an outlaw. The original, led by Glenn Ford, ran for 92 minutes and was praised for its resemblance to High Noon; Mangold’s version was moderately successful on release, received positive reviews and has since built a loyal following.
