Netflix is releasing a new film titled Unabomber on 25 September, starring Russell Crowe as a Harvard psychologist and Jacob Tremblay as Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber himself. The film is positioned as an alternative for fans of David Fincher's Mindhunter series, which will not return for a third season, and comes as Netflix's Monster anthology series continues its success with the latest episode sitting atop the streaming charts.

Directed by Janus Metz Pedersen (known for Andor and Borg vs. McEnroe), the film alternates between two timelines: Kaczynski's time as a Harvard University student and the later FBI manhunt to capture him. The supporting cast includes Shailene Woodley as an FBI agent, along with Alexander Ludwig and Annabelle Wallis. Ted Kaczynski was a mathematics prodigy who worked as a professor before becoming a recluse and targeting unsuspecting victims with homemade explosive devices sent through the post; he has previously been portrayed in multiple films and documentaries.
