George Russell won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from pole after leading throughout, securing his third victory of the season. Max Verstappen finished less than two tenths behind after a strong recovery, while Isack Hadjar marked his return from a wrist injury by taking third place.

Russell’s win cut Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli’s championship lead from 81 points to 66, despite Antonelli recovering from 16th to finish fifth. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was fourth, while several drivers recovered from crashes, penalties or poor grid positions; Lando Norris lost a likely podium challenge after a lock-up, and Oscar Piastri’s weekend was also undermined by a costly error.
