Russell Howard reveals his baby boy Felix died shortly after his wife gave birth as they praise NHS staff for helping them navigate ‘most devastating time of their life’
Comedian Russell Howard has revealed that his baby son Felix died shortly after his wife, doctor Cerys Morgan, gave birth to him earlier this year. Announcing the news on Instagram, the 46-year-old thanked NHS staff for their compassion during what he described as the most devastating time of the couple's lives, and said they are now setting up a charity in Felix's memory to support other bereaved families.
The couple, who had not publicly announced the pregnancy, credited a bereavement midwife who had experienced a similar loss herself with helping them cope, and said being able to hold Felix in a cool cot gave them precious final hours together. The newly launched Felix Foundation will fund bereavement training for midwives, dedicated hospital facilities and support for families affected by miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. Howard is hosting a charity gala at London's O2 on 8 February 2027 featuring comedians including Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr, Greg Davies and John Bishop, all performing for free.
