Russian strikes across Ukraine kill at least 8 civilians and wound dozens

NPR · 2 hours ago

Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine killed at least eight civilians, including children, and wounded dozens overnight. The attacks underline the continuing danger to Ukrainian cities far from the front line and intensify Kyiv’s calls for more air-defence systems.

Ukraine said Russia launched more than 70 missiles and over 280 attack drones, with more than 260 drones intercepted. Six people, including children, were reported killed in the Dnipropetrovsk region; strikes also killed one person each in Kyiv and Poltava, while 34 people were wounded in Lviv. Ukraine said a cruise missile may also have entered Polish airspace, though Polish authorities had not confirmed this.
