## Key points

- Lantratova is expected to lead Russia’s delegation in Washington.
- Some Russian delegates were still awaiting visas.
- Ukraine plans to send Arakhamia and Lubinets.

## Summary

Russia says human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova will lead its delegation to a Washington meeting with Ukrainian officials, organised by Melania Trump. The gathering matters because it brings Russian and Ukrainian representatives together after both sides credited Trump with mediating a humanitarian truce.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev would also attend, but some members of the Russian party had not yet received visas. Ukraine plans to send parliamentary faction leader Davyd Arakhamia and human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinets. Lantratova and Lubinets previously coordinated an operation that evacuated hundreds of people from Oleshky, in the Kherson region.
