‘S.W.A.T.’ Creator Aaron Rahsaan Thomas & ‘Origin’ Producer Paul Garnes Among Names Set For Inaugural Ghana Creative Economy Initiative

Accra is hosting the inaugural Ghana Creative Economy Initiative, bringing together African film and television talent with international industry figures including S.W.A.T. creator Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and producer Paul Garnes. The programme aims to strengthen professional networks, develop projects for global markets and attract investment into Ghana’s creative industries.

The initiative includes a 10-day directing lab for eight producer-directer teams from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, running from 14 to 23 July. Free masterclasses across Accra will take place from 20 to 24 July, while a Creative Economy Summit at Google Accra on 22 July will convene filmmakers, investors, technology firms and policymakers; supporters include Google, Multichoice, MTN and Ghana’s National Film Authority.
