With the 2026-27 Premier League season approaching, several notable players who featured in the top flight last season remain without a club. BBC Sport has compiled a list of prominent out-of-contract free agents, spanning established internationals to squad players whose futures at their former clubs have ended, whether through choice, injury, off-field issues or relegation.

Among the highest-profile names are Manchester City's John Stones, who left after a decade and 15 trophies and is linked with Everton and AC Milan, and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, whose strained relationship with manager Arne Slot preceded reported interest from Turkish side Besiktas rather than the expected Saudi move. Manchester United's Jadon Sancho, who cost £73m in 2021 but managed just 30 league appearances before loan spells, has reportedly received an offer from Qatar's Al-Rayyan.
