Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” has remained at number one on the UK Official Singles Chart for a record-extending 21st week. The achievement further establishes the song as the country’s longest-running chart-topper, surpassing Frankie Laine’s 18-week run with “I Believe” in 1953.

The single had already become the longest-running UK number one of the 21st century and by a British act after 16 weeks, overtaking Drake’s “One Dance” and Wet Wet Wet’s “Love Is All Around”. Elsewhere, Shakira and Burna Boy’s World Cup anthem “Dai Dai” stayed at number two, while Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” rose to number three; “Rein Me In” has peaked at number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100.
