## Key points

- Sam Franklin Jr is appealing a one-game unpaid suspension.
- He denies spitting on a Raiders player.
- He is the second Bill suspended over a Week 6 spitting incident.

## Summary

Bills safety Sam Franklin Jr is appealing a one-game, unpaid NFL suspension over an alleged spitting incident against the Raiders. He denies spitting, and the league has not released further details; the appeal matters because it could affect whether and when he serves the ban.

The incident came with 1:32 left in Buffalo’s 33-30 win in Las Vegas, and the suspension was due to run from Monday through 2 November. A social media clip shows a scuffle after the extra point, including Raiders lineman Delmar Glaze appearing to shove Franklin, but it ends before any alleged retaliation. Franklin is the second Bills player suspended over a spitting-related incident from Week 6; C.J. Gardner-Johnson also received a one-game ban.
