Sam Masaru Sekoff, a literary manager at Entertainment 360, has died aged 33, according to Deadline. His death was announced by the company after he died at his Los Angeles home on 14 July, which was also his birthday; the article reports it was an apparent suicide. The loss matters within Hollywood’s representation business because Sekoff was seen as a fast-rising figure with a strong reputation for supporting underrepresented and marginalised artists.

Entertainment 360 said it closed for the rest of Tuesday so staff could grieve, and described Sekoff as dedicated, kind and deeply valued by colleagues and clients. Born in Japan and raised in Florida, he spent time in foster care after his father died, later moved to Los Angeles to study at USC, became a TV agent at Gersh in 2018 aged 25, joined Range Media Partners in 2021 and moved to Entertainment 360 in 2024. He was named to The Hollywood Reporter’s 2023 “35 under 35” Next Gen list, and is survived by his mother in Japan and his sister in New York.
