Samsung is rolling out its One UI 9 software update to the standard Galaxy S26 line, bringing AI-driven features that previously debuted on the company's newest foldable phones to a wider range of devices. The update covers the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra from today, as well as the recently launched Galaxy S26 FE, meaning owners of conventional slate-style handsets can now access tools such as My FanCam, which automatically crops footage to keep a chosen subject in frame.

The update brings a broad suite of AI enhancements, including editable Now Brief summary cards, a Now Nudge tool that pulls personal context from across the Galaxy ecosystem to make suggestions, and an improved Interpreter app with a Thread View for tracking translated conversations alongside faster live translations. Voice Recorder now produces more structured summaries with headings and tables, while Document Scan has been improved for capturing curved or folded book pages. Samsung has also added Security Brief and Privacy Alerts features, and extended scam call detection to Japan, Canada and India.
