Samsung’s Freestyle+ projector is now available for $1,200

Engadget · 1 month ago

Samsung has launched its Freestyle+ projector for $1,200, an upgraded version of its portable Freestyle line that now offers stronger distortion correction and surface adaptation for casual home or outdoor use. The higher price marks a significant jump from the second-generation Freestyle, which retailed at $800, reflecting the addition of premium features aimed at making the projector easier to use on imperfect surfaces without manual adjustment.

The Freestyle+'s standout feature is an updated 3D Auto Keystone system that can flatten images projected onto irregular surfaces, including corners or curtains with fold marks, first showcased at CES earlier this year. It can also automatically resize images to fit available wall space, projecting up to 100 inches at 1080p resolution, and includes a Wall Calibration feature that adjusts colour and brightness to suit patterned or coloured walls. The device supports HDR10+, auto-focuses based on distance to the surface, and has a built-in speaker with dual passive woofers for 360-degree sound. It can mirror content from Galaxy or Apple devices via AirPlay, stream from Samsung TV Plus and Gaming Hub, and be powered outdoors via an external USB-C battery.
