The San Sebastián Film Festival has unveiled a new batch of titles for its main competition, including works from Pablo Larraín, Mike Leigh and Benjamín Naishtat, alongside films from Nicole Garcia, Maha Harada, Hans Petter Moland and Yeşim Ustaoğlu. The announcement reflects the festival's usual blend of established international auteurs, drawn largely from Latin America, France and the Nordic countries, and emerging talent, with its prestigious New Directors strand still to be revealed.

Larraín's "My Sad Dead," a feature version of his Netflix horror miniseries adapting Argentinian writer Mariana Enríquez, stars Mercedes Morán, Dolores Fonzi and Alejandra Flechner. Leigh's "Tender Loving Care" and Naishtat's "Glaxo" also join the line-up, alongside Garcia's "Milo," Ustaoğlu's "What Remains" and Moland's "Growth of the Soil." These new entries join three Spanish films announced on 17 July, ahead of the festival's 74th edition, which runs from 18 to 26 September in San Sebastián's Basque Country.
