Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman made a surprise appearance at a Cinespia screening of their 1998 film Practical Magic on Saturday night at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, delighting fans ahead of the release of the long-awaited sequel. The pair, who introduced new cast members Joey King and Maisie Williams to the crowd, are reprising their roles as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, with the event serving to build anticipation for Practical Magic 2, due in cinemas next month.

The sequel is set 25 years after the original and follows Bullock's character's two daughters, played by King and Williams, as they navigate their own magical abilities and uncover dark family secrets. Original stars Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing return, joined by newcomers Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod, with Susanne Bier directing and Bullock and Kidman producing alongside Denise Di Novi. Practical Magic 2 opens in theatres on 11 September, while the original film returns for a one-night cinema re-release on 11 August.
