Sandra Bullock Opens Up for the First Time on ALS Death of Partner Bryan Randall: ‘My Person Left A Lot Earlier Than the Body Left’
Sandra Bullock has spoken publicly for the first time about the death of her partner, photographer Bryan Randall, who died from ALS in August 2023. Speaking on the Smartless podcast, the actress revealed that Randall asked her to keep his diagnosis private, a decision she said left her isolated while caring for him and raising her two young children during the Covid pandemic.
Randall, who was with Bullock for eight years and ill for at least half of that time, died aged 57. Bullock said she began grieving him emotionally years before his physical death, telling hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett that "my person left a lot earlier than the body left." She said only her sister knew of the diagnosis at first, before she eventually confided in friends including Jennifer Aniston, and admitted she did not properly process her grief until after his death.
