## Key points

- Hüller will campaign in supporting for “Fatherland”.
- Her lead campaign for “Rose” remains separate.
- New Oscar rules allow multiple acting nominations in one category.

## Summary

Mubi will campaign Sandra Hüller for supporting actress for “Fatherland”, a change from the lead placement many awards watchers had expected. The choice casts the film as an ensemble and leaves Hüller’s lead campaign for “Rose” as her sole bid in that category, potentially improving her chances of nominations for both performances.

Hüller and Hanns Zischler, who play Erika and Thomas Mann, will both be submitted in supporting across the awards season, including the Oscars, Golden Globes and Actor Awards. “Fatherland” follows the pair travelling through postwar Germany in 1949. A rule change for the 99th Oscars allows performers to receive two nominations in the same acting category if both performances rank among the top five; only 12 actors have previously earned two acting nominations in one year.
