Sarah Catherine Hook Lands Lead Role In Python Thriller ‘Crush’ From 20th Century Studios
Actress Sarah Catherine Hook, best known for her breakout role in the third season of HBO's The White Lotus, has been cast in the lead role of Crush, a snake-themed thriller from 20th Century Studios. It marks her first major starring role in a feature film, with production set to begin in Australia this autumn.
Crush is described as a real-time survival thriller, inspired by true events, following a woman hiking alone in the Everglades who wakes to find herself trapped in the coils of a giant python. Overlord director Julius Avery is attached to helm the project, working from a script by John Fischer, who originally wrote it as a spec script under a pseudonym while working at Temple Hill Entertainment. Temple Hill and Scott Glassgold's 12:01 Films are producing after a competitive bidding war landed the project at 20th Century Studios. Hook, also recently seen in Netflix's People We Meet on Vacation, will next appear in the indie film Capsized alongside Rhys Ifans and Lily Rabe.
