## Key points

- Sarah Ferguson appeared publicly at a Knightsbridge memorial service.
- Her first public appearance in months may signal a return.
- The article leaves her intentions uncertain.

## Summary

Sarah Ferguson appeared in public at a memorial service in Knightsbridge for Paddy McNally, her former partner and long-time confidant. The appearance, nearly a year after the collapse of her royal status and public associations, may signal an attempt to return to public life, though the article presents this as speculation.

Ferguson attended with her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and their husbands. She had largely stayed out of sight, with one reported sighting at an Austrian spa, since the fallout that cost her the Duchess of York title, home and charity and business links; the article says her former husband Andrew was provided with a home on the Sandringham estate. The writer suggests her carefully timed appearance could point to a comeback, but gives no confirmation of her plans.
