‘Scooby-Doo’ Netflix Series Casts Andre 3000, Cathy Moriarty
Netflix’s live-action “Scooby-Doo: Origins” has cast Andre 3000 and Cathy Moriarty in recurring roles, strengthening the ensemble for the franchise’s modern reimagining. The series is filming in Atlanta and is due to arrive in 2027, with character details for the new cast members still undisclosed.
Maxwell Jenkins, Tanner Hagen, Abby Ryder Fortson and Mckenna Grace will play Fred, Shaggy, Velma and Daphne respectively, while Paul Walter Hauser and several other actors also feature. Set during Shaggy and Daphne’s final summer at camp, the show follows the group as they investigate a potentially supernatural murder connected to a lost Great Dane puppy; Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are writing and running the series.
