## Key points

- Scotland seek a first win over New Zealand.
- A year of highs and setbacks has shaped the team.
- The All Blacks arrive in strong form under Dave Rennie.

## Summary

Scotland face New Zealand at Murrayfield on Saturday, seeking a first win over the All Blacks after last year’s 17-17 comeback ended in defeat. The match comes a year after a turbulent spell raised questions about head coach Gregor Townsend, and offers Scotland a chance to build on a run of strong performances.

Since losing to Italy in the Six Nations, Scotland have beaten England, scored 50 points against France, run in seven tries against Argentina and narrowly lost to world champions South Africa in Pretoria. Captain Sione Tuipulotu says those setbacks and landmark victories have helped the team progress. Townsend sees New Zealand as a more ambitious side under Dave Rennie, with leadership and recent wins over Australia adding to the challenge.
