Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi), Jessica Rothe, Travis Fimmel and Natasha Lyonne have completed filming on Pathetic Fallacy, an independent supernatural thriller directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer. The project marks Mescudi's first leading film role and is notable for blending horror with music, as it features an original score and songs by Johnny Jewel alongside original tracks written by Cudi himself.

Written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, the film follows a young widower who travels to a new-age mountain town seeking healing, only to encounter a murderer and demonic spirits offering a dangerous deal to cheat death. Shot on 35mm, the psychedelic story of love, death and loss is produced by Steven Schneider's Room 101 alongside several other production companies, with Mescudi, Barrer and Ferrari among the executive producers.
