Scottish Stand-Up Connor Burns Sets Gorilla Comedy+ Launch For New Special ‘Gallus’
Scottish comedian Connor Burns has confirmed that his new stand-up special, Gallus, will launch exclusively on the streaming platform Gorilla Comedy+ on 3 August, before arriving on YouTube and Prime Video on 1 September. It is Burns' second full-length special and second project with production company 800 Pound Gorilla, following his 2022 debut Vertigo, and comes as he continues to build a strong international following on the live comedy circuit.
The special, whose title uses the Scots word for "bold, daring and reckless", was filmed at the King's Theatre in Glasgow earlier this year during Burns' fourth solo tour, though details of its content have not been disclosed. That tour broke box office records at the Glasgow Comedy Festival, sold out extended runs across the UK and Australia, and included an Off-Broadway run in New York, adding to a Forth Fringe Award win. Burns first rose to prominence with Vertigo, which sold more than 10,000 tickets at the Edinburgh Fringe before its official on-sale and later toured 40 UK dates, expanded by a further eight due to demand; he is now touring a new show, Flow, this autumn.
