## Key points

- Season two is nearing the end of filming.
- HBO still expects a first-half 2027 release.
- Flooding in Spain caused major production disruption.

## Summary

Showrunner Ira Parker says filming on the second season of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is in its final weeks and remains scheduled for release in the first half of 2027. The update matters because it confirms the Game of Thrones spin-off is progressing despite serious weather-related disruption during production.

The new season adapts George R.R. Martin’s second Dunk and Egg novella, The Sworn Sword, with Peter Claffey returning as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. Production moved from Northern Ireland to Spain, but severe flooding and a once-in-a-century storm in the Canary Islands caused national emergencies, crew hiatuses and repeated filming delays.
