A second man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a large fire that destroyed around 140 vehicles at a holiday car park near Gatwick Airport. The blaze broke out at Caldyne Business Park in Rowfant, near Crawley, West Sussex, on Saturday evening, prompting a major emergency response and leaving more than 2,000 homes without power after high-voltage equipment was damaged. The site, which is not operated or endorsed by Gatwick Airport, is used mainly by travellers leaving cars while they fly from the airport.

Police and fire crews were called at 8.56pm on Saturday to what was described as a "significant and complex" fire, with eight fire engines and two water carriers tackling the flames overnight and nearby roads closed as a precaution. A 67-year-old man was arrested on the day of the fire, and a 29-year-old man was arrested on Monday, both on suspicion of arson; both have since been bailed pending further enquiries. No injuries were reported, and affected motorists have been urged to contact their parking operator directly, while Sussex Police continue to appeal for information.
