See inside the abandoned 95-year-old LA church that just became a luxury hotel

Fox News · 4 hours ago

A former Presbyterian church in Los Angeles has been restored and converted into Hotel Lucile, a 25-room boutique hotel in Silver Lake. The redevelopment preserves much of the 1931 building’s religious and architectural character while giving it a new purpose as a hospitality venue, reflecting the growing trend of adapting historic buildings rather than replacing them.

The restoration took about seven and a half years and retained features including stained-glass windows, wooden beams, high ceilings and steel-framed windows. The former chapel is now the hotel’s restaurant, with around 90% of its original features preserved; the property also includes a courtyard cocktail pool, art collection, Erewhon-curated minibars and an evening martini cart.

  • Historic LA church becomes a 25-room boutique hotel.
  • Restoration preserved most original chapel features.
  • Hotel combines heritage architecture with modern luxuries.
