UK band Shame have announced a hiatus after completing their remaining shows, saying the decision was made for the wellbeing of both the members and the group. They stressed that the break is temporary rather than a split, promising to return with a fifth album.

The band shared the news on social media after touring in support of their latest album, Cutthroat. Frontman Charlie Steen has said the record drew inspiration from Catholicism, including reflections on funerals, faith and celebration of life; Shame described the pause as “see you later”, not goodbye.
