Shane Gillis Breaks Two Guinness World Records for Live Comedy
Comedian Shane Gillis, a native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has been awarded two Guinness World Records after his 17 July show at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. The show set new records for the largest audience for a comedian and the most tickets sold for a comedy show by a solo performer, marking the biggest headlining performance of his career and underscoring his rapid rise in stand-up comedy.
Venue officials confirmed that 77,047 tickets were sold, with 73,496 people actually attending, a figure verified on the night by Guinness adjudicator Andy Glass. The event featured guest appearances from Dave Chappelle, Meek Mill, Three 6 Mafia, Bam Margera, and Philadelphia comedians Matt McCusker and "Big Jay" Oakerson, alongside a fireworks finale during which Gillis thanked the crowd. The previous attendance record, set by German comedian Mario Barth in 2008, stood at 67,733, while the new tickets-sold category replaces an earlier benchmark of 54,000.
