Marking one year since Ozzy Osbourne's death, his widow Sharon Osbourne has urged fans to remember the Black Sabbath frontman through celebration rather than sorrow, telling BBC Radio WM that he would have wanted people to "turn the music up really loud" and head bang in his memory. Her comments coincide with Birmingham hosting its first "Ozzy Day", a citywide celebration honouring the singer's connection to his hometown and his lasting influence on heavy metal, which Sharon hopes will become an annual fixture.

Sharon also highlighted Ozzy's charitable legacy, referencing the money raised for causes including Cure Parkinson's, Acorns Children's Hospice and Birmingham Children's Hospital through the band's 2025 farewell Back to the Beginning concert, and pledged continued support for Parkinson's research following his 2019 diagnosis. Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 aged 76, just weeks after that reunion show, and the anniversary has also prompted an emotional tribute from daughter Kelly Osbourne, who wrote on Instagram that she still feels his presence daily.
