Sharon Osbourne says Ozzfest 2027 announcement is coming “soon” and that Ozzy “loved the idea” of AI avatar: “It’s not as if I’m using him to sell fucking weedkiller or beer”

Sharon Osbourne has said an official announcement about the revived Ozzfest is coming "soon", with next year's edition set to return to Birmingham's Villa Park, the venue that hosted Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's final live performances shortly before his death last summer. In a new Metal Hammer interview, she also again defended plans for an AI-powered avatar of her late husband, rejecting claims it amounts to a cash grab and insisting Ozzy himself supported the idea.

Sharon confirmed Ozzfest 2027 will again be staged at Villa Park, though whether it runs over two nights depends on fan demand, and said talks with potential acts were already under way, with news expected imminently. Ozzfest, first held in 1996, last took place in Inglewood, California on New Year's Eve 2018, featuring Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and DevilDriver. On the AI avatar, which the family says will let fans interact with a digital Ozzy who answers in his own voice, Sharon dismissed criticism as unfounded, saying the project had been discussed for a decade and stressing she was not using her husband's likeness to sell products.
