Sharon Osbourne shares advice Ozzy left to remember him by as Black Sabbath bandmates pay tribute on anniversary of death
Sharon Osbourne has shared advice her late husband Ozzy gave her for remembering him, as his Black Sabbath bandmates paid tribute on the first anniversary of his death. Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 aged 76, and the heavy metal pioneer's Birmingham hometown marked the anniversary with the first-ever "Ozzy Day," featuring fan tributes, a brass band performing Black Sabbath songs, and the city's mechanical "Ozzy The Bull" statue decorated with his trademark glasses.
Sharon told the BBC that Ozzy had told her: "When you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang," recalling him as "authentic," "genuine" and "funny." His children Jack and Kelly also spoke about the anniversary, while Black Sabbath bandmates Geezer Butler, Bill Ward and Tony Iommi posted tributes on social media reflecting on his legacy following his final live show at Villa Park just weeks before his death from a heart attack.
