## Key points

- Fan protests followed defeats by Notts County and Doncaster.
- Sheffield Wednesday dismissed Pedersen after less than 15 months.
- Interim boss Matt Hamshaw takes charge against Cambridge United.

## Summary

The new coverage adds that the pressure on Henrik Pedersen intensified after Sheffield Wednesday fans repeatedly chanted for him to leave during defeats by Notts County and Doncaster Rovers. The club has now dismissed him after less than 15 months in charge, saying it had not seen enough progress in playing style and consistency, despite accumulating points.

Matt Hamshaw, a Wednesday coach and former Rotherham manager, will take over temporarily and lead the side against sixth-placed Cambridge United. Wednesday are eighth in League One, two points outside the play-off places after 11 games, but have won once in six league matches and failed to score in four. Pedersen’s first season ended in Championship relegation amid financial problems and an 18-point penalty.
