Harry King Television is developing a new adults-only reboot of Sherlock Holmes, aiming to present a different take on the long-adapted detective. The series matters because it will combine new interpretations of Arthur Conan Doyle’s cases with longer, season-spanning storylines.

The project is based on Jonathan Sercombe’s book *The Unexpurgated Adventures of Sherlock Holmes* and will draw on Doyle stories originally published between 1887 and 1927. Tim John, Michael Ryan and producer David Lipman are attached to the production, which plans both standalone mysteries and overarching narrative arcs.
