Sheryl Crow has announced her new album, Pick You Up, due for release on 9 October, and shared its first single, ‘Freedom Bus’, featuring Jesse Welles. The album is presented as a response to social division and uncertainty, with Crow aiming to offer listeners themes of hope, connection and unity.

Produced with her longtime collaborator Jeff Trott, the seven-track record includes songs such as ‘Freight Train’, ‘Flat Earth’ and the title track. Crow described ‘Freedom Bus’ as a protest song about remembering history and protecting civic freedoms, arguing that public disagreement should reflect the sacrifices made to secure equal rights.
