## Summary

Sheryl Crow has revealed that her mother’s family came from Wales, describing the connection as “incredible” and saying she wants to research her roots further. She recalled visiting Wales with her parents around 1990, while touring as a backing singer for Michael Jackson.

In a BBC Radio Wales interview, Crow also praised Dolly Parton, whose family has Welsh ancestry traced to Machynlleth, Powys. Parton’s death prompted Crow to reflect on whether she was doing enough to help others; she cited Parton’s Imagination Library, which sends a free monthly book to children aged up to five. Crow, a nine-time Grammy winner, began her career as a backing singer and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
