Two teenagers have been charged after a security guard was allegedly assaulted at Westfield Coomera on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Footage appears to show the 66-year-old being punched repeatedly before falling to the ground, sustaining a serious head injury.
Queensland Police said the incident occurred at about 6.40pm on Tuesday. The guard was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital, and police believe his injuries resulted from both the punches and his fall; a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old each face one charge of seriously assaulting a person over 60.
