## Summary

Comedian Paul Whitehouse was assaulted at a cashpoint in Islington while out collecting medication for his wife. The incident has drawn attention to a violent confrontation in a busy London street and prompted his wife to urge people to stay alert.

Whitehouse, 68, reportedly fought back and recovered his bank card. CCTV and a local shopkeeper’s account suggest the dispute began when another man was waiting to use the cashpoint, making it appear to be a queue-related altercation rather than an attempted theft; the article says the attacker left the card behind.
