Lou Koller, singer and co-founder of New York hardcore band Sick Of It All, has died aged 59 after battling oesophageal cancer. His death was announced by the band, which described him as an iconic frontman whose energy and humour connected with audiences worldwide; it comes as the group approaches its 40th anniversary.

Koller formed Sick Of It All in Queens with his brother Pete in 1986, and the band became a significant name in hardcore alongside acts including Agnostic Front and Cro-Mags. They released 12 studio albums, with 1989 debut Blood, Sweat And No Tears regarded as a genre classic; Koller disclosed his cancer diagnosis in 2024, said he was cancer-free in May 2025, but the illness later returned.
