Seneca Higley, a 46-year-old father from Utah, died after taking a fentanyl-laced pill during an encounter with sex worker Heidi Warner in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2024. His 11-year-old daughter, Indica, had already lost her mother, Gretchen Bloemen, who died in October 2023, leaving the girl without either parent.

Warner, 25, was sentenced to between three and eight years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter. She said Higley loved his daughter deeply and acknowledged that his death could not be undone; her lawyer said she had obtained the pill at Higley’s request and did not know it contained fentanyl. Higley’s family said he had struggled with addiction but had been sober for some time, and he had recently posted about supporting his daughter through her mother’s death.
