## Key points

- A 19-year-old is critically injured after a shooting near a Brisbane boxing event.
- Police believe she was an innocent bystander.
- Her family’s cars had six tyres slashed in an earlier attack.

## Summary

Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, 19, is in a critical condition after being shot in the face during a drive-by attack outside a boxing event in Loganholme, near Brisbane. Police say they believe she was an innocent bystander, and are investigating whether the shooting was linked to an attempted gangland execution; they have not said that any of the people shot were involved in the speculation.

The article reports that Schuster-Togiatau’s family had previously been targeted in an unexplained incident: in April 2025, six tyres across three family cars were slashed, with the vehicles positioned beyond the reach of their security camera. At Saturday’s event, four people were shot as more than 100 spectators, including families with young children, attended. Police say two masked men fired from a silver Mitsubishi ASX, later found burnt out, and believe at least three people were involved.
