Apple extends Siri AI to five new languages in October

Engadget · 1 hour ago

Apple has announced that Siri AI, its redesigned digital assistant, will expand to five additional languages—French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish—from October, following an English-only beta launch. The update was revealed during Apple's fall iPhone event and marks a significant step in the assistant's international rollout after a long-anticipated overhaul.

Siri AI is currently accessible in English via the iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate betas, with wider availability for English speakers arriving when these updates go public on 14 September. The assistant will carry a daily usage limit for prompts requiring Apple's cloud-based AI models, though iCloud+ subscribers will get expanded allowances, with further details still to come. Compatibility starts with the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, while newer models such as the iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air will benefit from more powerful on-device processing for improved speech recognition and dictation.
