Slash Management Debuts Production Division At “Pivotal Moment” For Talent Firms
Jake Webb's Slash Management is expanding beyond talent representation to launch a multi-division production studio, moving into film and television development, podcast production, modelling and creator-led IP. The move comes six months after Webb took full control of the Los Angeles firm, and reflects what he describes as a "pivotal moment" for talent agencies, as the boundary between digital creators and traditional talent narrows and the value of both nears parity.
At the heart of the new operation is Slash Studios, a production hub on Sunset Boulevard offering podcast and music studios, YouTube creator sets, glam rooms and event space, which has already produced podcasts such as Cool Conversations with Pressley and Basically Besties, and hosted brand activations and release events. The film and TV arm will develop scripted and unscripted projects drawing on Slash's roster of more than 120 clients, with at least one indie project reportedly already in development. The expansion has been accompanied by several hires and promotions over the past six months, including theatrical manager Kaelyn Lacey and the promotion of Jerry Barajas to Vice President of Talent.
