The brief statement, posted on 14 August and later removed from Slipknot’s website but retained by Knotfest, said the split was effective immediately and wished Wilson well. Wilson joined in 1998 as Slipknot’s ninth member; during his tenure the band earned a Grammy, achieved three Billboard 200 number-one albums and released its latest album, The End, So Far, in 2022.
