Smashing Pumpkins’ Lollapalooza warm-up show in Chicago featured an unexpected appearance by Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch, performing the sitcom song “It’s A Sunshine Day” with the band. The unusual guest spot, alongside other surprise appearances and rare songs, heightened anticipation for the group’s first Lollapalooza set in 32 years.

At the Riviera Theatre show, former Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf der Maur joined the band for “The Everlasting Gaze”, while Flavor Flav watched from the audience. The set included “Thirty-Three” for the first time since 2018, “Dorian” for the first time since 2015, and the live debut of “War Dreams Of Itself”; Williams had also recently appeared on Billy Corgan’s podcast.
