Snap is officially launching its long-awaited Specs augmented-reality glasses at an event in Los Angeles, with CEO Evan Spiegel due to deliver a keynote at 4pm PT on 16 September 2026. The device, first shown off earlier this year at the Augmented World Expo, has been pitched by Spiegel not as another pair of AI-powered smart glasses like those from competitors, but as a "wearable computer" designed to accompany users throughout the day and reduce reliance on smartphones.

Specs will cost $2,195, and while Snap has already revealed some hardware and performance details, much remains unknown ahead of the launch, including how comfortable the glasses are to wear day-to-day, what third-party app support looks like, and how artificial intelligence features will be integrated.
