## Key points

- SNL mocked Musk’s election spending and losses.
- The sketch had Grok roast Musk.
- Druski hosted, with The Strokes as musical guest.

## Summary

Saturday Night Live’s latest ‘Weekend Update’ used an Elon Musk impression to mock his political spending and the candidates he backed who lost in the midterm elections. The sketch also made Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, the target of its jokes, drawing attention to how the service can generate insulting content.

Jeremy Culhane played Musk, who deflected Colin Jost’s reference to his spending by talking about a car flipping over. He then introduced Grok’s “Epic Vulgar Roast” feature, which called him “the worst thing South Africa has ever done” and joked about his 100 children. Musk had separately joked on X that his “election-interfering space lasers” had failed; Druski hosted the episode, with The Strokes as musical guest.
